ILIGAN CITY –- A child was hurt while another person was reported missing as strong winds hit this city early Wednesday afternoon, according to authorities.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) has warned the public that a shallow low pressure area was spotted 200 kilometers east of Northern Mindanao Wednesday and is expected to hit the area the same day.

Due to strong winds, a star apple (caimito) tree fell that resulted to an injury of a young girl from Barangay Tipanoy. She was then brought to a hospital for treatment.
At least one person was reported missing.
Dalipuga barangay officials led by Barangay Chairman Pedrito Manus said 41-year-old Ireneo Higante, a resident of Barangay Dalipuga, went fishing alone at about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Rescue 118 reported that only the banca, which was believed to have belonged to Higante, was recovered and that the victim remains missing.
Meanwhile, a radio station’s communications tower also fell, hitting a government-owned multicab service vehicle.
No one was reported hurt in the incident but it caused a traffic jam near the central market.
The strong winds also destroyed tarpaulin billboards and ripped off some G.I. sheets.
Electric power in most areas went off but was restored early evening Wednesday.
