"Aircraft accident investigators from Metro Manila will be in the city anytime now to conduct an investigation," said the ATO.

ATO-Southern Mindanao area manager Frederick San Felix said they are still conducting an investigation on the possible cause of the crash of the aerial spray plane Thursday.

An aerial spray plane used by an agricultural giant in Compostela Valley crashed last Thursday as it was making its rounds over vast banana plantation. The pilot, identified as Captain Mario Reyes, died in the incident.

Reports gathered by Sun.Star Davao said that Reyes was flying a Turbo Thrush over plantations of Davao Fruits Corporation and Compostela Plantations Inc., shortly after dawn when it crashed into a village.

This is the third crash of an aerial spray plane in Southern Mindanao in less than three weeks. The last crash, involving the collision of two aerial spray planes, happened last November 19, wherein one pilot also died while another was injured. (Sun.Star Davao/Sunnex)
