40T ballots set for Thursday's special polls By Bong Garcia
ZAMBOANGA CITY -- The election paraphernalia to be used in the forthcoming special synchronized Sangguniang kabataan (SK) and barangay elections in the two nearby autonomous region provinces are arriving on Monday in Zamboanga City from the Commission on Elections (Comelec) central office in Manila.
Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Arm) Assistant Election Officer Vidzfar Juli said the Comelec central office is sending 233 official copies of election returns (ERs) to be used in the synchronized special elections.

The ERs will be used in the scheduled synchronized special SK and barangay polls in the provinces of Basilan and Sulu, which are part of the autonomous region, according to Juli.
The Comelec has set the special SK and barangay polls on December 15 in villages where there was failure of elections or no elections were held at all last October 29.
Juli said more than 40,000 official ballots would be sent before the scheduled polls for the nearby provinces of Basilan and Sulu.
Juli said the Comelec central office has decided not to use the unused ERs and official ballots during the October 29 elections to avoid possible anomalies during the special polls.
He said the ERs and official ballots would be properly secured to ensure that the conduct of the special elections is clean. (Sunnex)
