Gov't workers to get P10,000 bonus (2:43 p.m.)
MANILA -- President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo ordered on Wednesday the giving of a P10,000 performance bonus for government employes in view of their contribution to the country’s economic growth.
The bonus, which was granted through Administrative Order 213, would be given not earlier than December 15 this year.
The order covers all employes and officials of national government agencies and government corporations and financial institutions who have rendered at least four months of service as of November 30, 2007.
Those who have been in government for more than three months but less than four months would get 40 percent of the bonus, those that have provided two months to less than three months of service would get 30 percent, those serving a month to less than 2 months would get 20
percent, and those with less than a month of service would get 10 percent.
Under AO 213, the government agency would shoulder P3,000 of the P10,000 bonus while the budget department would foot the remaining P7,000 to be charged to pooled savings in the unreleased appropriations in the 2007 budget. (JMR) |
