Maguindanao grenade attack injures 5 By Malu Cadelina Manar Correspondent
KIDAPAWAN CITY -- Five people were hurt when a projectile fired from an M79 grenade launcher landed in one of the villages in a Maguindanao town at around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Army's 7th Infantry Battalion chief Colonel Dickson Hermoso said the latest atrocity in Pagalungan town is politically-motivated.

The wounded -- Omar Guiamad, Naura Abdilla, Kusing Musa, Sanggutin Mangulamas, and Abdilla Bacer, all residents of Barangay Poblacion, Pagalungan - were immediately brought to Cruzado Hospital in nearby Pikit town in North Cotabato.
Reports reaching authorities said the M79 projectile was launched from Barangay Inug-og in Pikit, believed to be the headquarters of a big politician from Pagalungan.
The suspects, whom Hermoso refused to identify, were reportedly connected to the politician.
Hermoso said Wednesday's attack could be a retaliation of an ambush in Barangay Lumayon in Kabacan, also in North Cotabato, on September 19 this year where five of the relatives of the politician were killed.
The grenade attack has also resulted to the evacuation of some 50 families in Barangay Poblacion, Pagalungan. (Sun.Star Davao/Sunnex)
