"There's a whale shark on your ship." That was what local pier workers Monday told the crew of mv Elena, an ocean-going vessel from Singapore, which docked at the Cebu port Sunday night. MV Elena accidentally must have bumped the whale-shark, locally known as “balilan,” somewhere in the Sulu Sea and carried it on the vessel’s rear portion. (Sun.Star Cebu/Amper Campaña)
MANILA -- The satisfaction ratings of Vice President Noli de Castro and Senate President Manuel "Manny" Villar Jr., both perceived as strong presidential contenders in 2010, rose to record-high levels in the November 30 to December 3, 2007 survey of the Social Weather Stations (SWS).

The SWS survey, which had 1,200 respondents, showed de Castro's net satisfaction rating at 41, with 64 percent satisfied and 23 percent dissatisfied.
