Sun.Star Online covers Sinulog 2008

CEBU CITY -- Cebu is celebrating its famous Sinulog festival and the Sun.Star website is geared up for a real-time coverage of two event highlights: the solemn procession on Saturday and Cebu Grand Parade on Sunday.

Log on to www.sunstar.com.ph/blogs/sinulog for stories, photos, and videos of these two events and experience the next best thing to being in Cebu as it celebrates Sinulog 2008.

Sun.Star Network Online's coverage of the Sinulog 2008 Festival

Sun.Star Network Online, at www.sunstar.com.ph, strives to bring the celebration to Filipinos anywhere in the globe through its multi-media coverage of Sinulog festivities.

Feel the spirit of one of the grandest festivals of the Philippines and join Cebuanos as they cheer Pit Senyor in celebration of the feast of the Señor Sto. Niño.

To visit the Sinulog blog, log on to www.sunstar.com.ph/blogs/sinulog. The blog already features stories, photos, and videos of other festival activities -- from trade fairs to mall exhibits, launching parade, night parties, and several Sinulog contests.

This Saturday, the website will strive to do a real-time coverage of Saturday's solemn procession, which Cebu Archbishop Cardinal Vidal will lead, and the Cebu Grand Parade on Sunday when city streets erupt into a rainbow of colors and performers in colorful costumes dance the Sinulog along the parade route.

The Sun.Star website will carry a timeline of these two activities.

You can also find other information such as guidelines for the Sinulog contests, parade route, Sinulog history, and schedules of all Sinulog activities, including the Novena masses, in the Sun.Star website's Sinulog blog.

A Sinulog message board has also been provided in the blog so visitors could post their Sinulog greetings. To go to the board, log on to www.sunstar.com.ph/specials/sinulog/testi.php.

Sun.Star Network Online welcomes photo contributions related to the Sinulog festival. Send them to sunnex@sunstar.com.ph or sunnex1@sunstar.com.ph. Please include your name and write a short description of your photo in your e-mail.

You may also capture photos using your cell phones and send them through MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) to the Sun.Star Sinulog blog. Click on the e-mail option as destination of your MMS and send to plans60busy2blog@photos.flickr.com.

With the website's real-time coverage, Filipinos who fail to make it to Cebu for the festival would still be part of this year's Sinulog celebration. Visit us now at www.sunstar.com.ph/blogs/sinulog and be one with us in dancing the Sinulog beat. (LRM/Sunnex)
