Palestinian rocket hits house in southern Israel, no one hurt (9:03 p.m.)

JERUSALEM - A Palestinian rocket fired from the Gaza Strip slammed into a house in southern Israel on Thursday, Israeli police said.

Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said the attack occurred in Sderot, the southern Israeli border town that has repeatedly been hit by rocket fire in recent years. The Israeli army said there were no casualties.

The Islamic Jihad militant group claimed responsibility. (AP)
