30% of Pinays suffer from vaginal infection: expert (7:09 p.m.)
MANILA -- An expert on infectious disease said about 20 to 30 percent of Filipino women are suffering from vaginal infection.
With this, Dr. Jack Sobel, professor from the Harper University Hospital in Detriot, said women who are "not sexually active" are prone to vaginal infections.
He said the symptoms of "vaginal infection is common," the main reason why some women do not seek medical treatment while some even ignore it.
Among the symptoms of vaginitis are itchiness, foul smelling odor, discharge and soreness of the genitals.
He added that untreated symptoms are likely to lead to complications and infective vaginitis. (FP/Sunnex)
