Police refute kidnapping, selling of kids' organs (6:28 p.m.)

MANILA -- The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday refuted reports that children aged 12 years old and below were being kidnapped in Quezon, Cavite, Batangas, and Sorsogon and that their vital organs are subsequently removed and later sold to buyers.

PNP spokesman Nicanor Bartolome at the same time warned erring people against spreading such reports to the public, through text messages.

"These are nothing but product of imagination. The PNP has no reports on that," said Bartolome, referring to the text messages, which had been spreading for the past days. "We have no confirmation on those reports," he added.

Bartolome said those who are spreading such information should stop because it creates fear among the people. (VR/Sunnex)
