Easter fire razes houses in Dumaguete (7:50 p.m.)

DUMAGUETE CITY -- Two residential houses in Barangay Motong, this City were razed by Easter fire Sunday afternoon.

The house of Juana Fontello was totally razed, while the house of Belenda Villanueva was partially hit by fire amid celebration of Fire Prevention Month.

Both owners estimated the damages to more than P100,000 each. The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), on the other hand, has yet to determine the estimated damages pending for investigation.

Initial investigation shows that the fire started at the kitchen of Fontello's house.

Fontello, however, denied reports and instead blamed that the main line electrical wire hit their house, causing the fire incident. (VLC/Sunnex)
