MANILA -- On the recommendation of Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief Hermogenes Esperon Jr., Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. has approved the appointment of 133 senior military officers to compose the AFP Selection Boards for Calendar Year 2008.

Four of the selection boards are from the Army, according to AFP public information officer Bartolome Bacarro. The boards would be headed by Colonels Anthony Alcantara, Nestor Ochoa, Gamaliel Cruz and Romeo Gan, said Bacarro.

The two selection boards from the Air Force would be headed by Brigadier Generals Lino Horacio Lapinid and Honorato Santos while the remaining two boards from the Navy would be headed by Commodores Joel Babas and Robert Noblefranca.

The Technical Staff also have their separate selection boards. The Judge Advocate General Service would be led by Colonel Gilberto Roa, Bacarro also said.

On the other hand, the Medical Service selection boards would be headed by Colonels Jesus Flores and Zenaida Abad while the Chaplain Service selection board is led by Colonel Rosalindo Acacio and the Corps of Professor selection is headed by Colonel Hernando Iriberi. (VR/Sunnex)
