Zambo: Canadian mining firm robbed of P1.1 million (6:49 p.m.)
ZAMBOANGA CITY -- Two Canadian mining company guards were placed under investigation to shed light on the robbery of over a million pesos in payroll money from the firm in the province of Zamboanga del Norte, the police reported on Thursday.
The Zamboanga del Norte Police Office (ZDNPO) reported that the incident took place around 4 a.m. Tuesday at the Canadian-owned TVI Resource Development Inc. in the village of Tabayo, Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte.
TVI Resource Development Incorporated finance officer Francisco Castro told police that his office was ransacked and he discovered what happened when he reported for work around 7 a.m. Tuesday.
Castro informed police that the suspects ran away with P1.1 million in payroll money intended for the salaries of company employees. (Bong Garcia/Sunnex)
