Oil firms impose another pump price hike (5:07 p.m.)
MANILA -- Oil giants headed by Pilipinas Shell as early as 12:01 of Saturday implemented another P0.50 per liter price hike on their gasoline, diesel, and kerosene.
Roberto Kanapi, spokesman of Shell and head of the corporate communications, said the price hike is still due to the continuing increase in the prices of crude in the world market.
Petron Corporation and Chevron Caltex also implemented the same increase.
This new round of increase is the sixth price hikes implemented by oil firms for this year.
Dubai crude price now ranges between US$105 to US$107 per barrel from the US$80 per barrel in 2007.
Aside from the big three oil firms, Total Philippines, Flying V and other independent oil players also imposed similar hikes. (MSN/Sunnex) |
