Arroyo to revamp Cabinet in May (1:15 p.m.)

MANILA -- President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo announced the revamping of her Cabinet in May, saying it will improve the leadership in her administration.

However, Arroyo has not yet revealed the specific people who will be appointed and the particular departments they will be heading.

One of the rumored appointees is General Hermogenes Esperon as Defense Secretary after he leaves military service on May 9.

It is also said that Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita will be replaced by Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary (DILG) Ronaldo Puno.

Other rumored appointees are former Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Michael Defensor and former senators Tessie Aquino-Oreta, Ralph Recto and Vicente Sotto III. (Sunnex)
