Companies told to comply with Dole wage order (6:57 p.m.)
MANILA -- The Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) has warned companies that will not comply with the newly approved wage order issued by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards (RTWPBs).
Raymundo Agravante, head of the National Capital Region (NCR) wage board, said commercial establishments that will be found violating the enforcement of Wage Order (WO) 14, which increased the daily take home pay of minimum wage earners in Metro Manila by P20 will suffer penalties.
Agravante explained that among the sanctions they could impose if the firm failed to comply with the new wage order includes going after the cash deposits and properties of the employers to effect the payment.
"In case of non-payment, a compliance order will be issued. We could impose garnishment on the cash deposits of the company or put levy on their properties," he added.
But he stressed that before enforcing the penalty the company will be placed first on a routine inspection to determine if there is really violation committed. (MSN/Sunnex) |
