Lapu mayor's lawyer ambushed (7:22 p.m.)

CEBU CITY -- The lawyer of Lapu-Lapu Mayor Arturo Radaza was ambushed at Barangay Tinago, Cebu City before noon Wednesday.

Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) Director Patrocinio Comendador, in a news conference, said lawyer Richard Sison died at 1:20 p.m. at Chong Hua Hospital.

Sison sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the head and neck, which resulted to his death.

The attack occurred 11 a.m. at the corner V. Sotto Street and M.J. Cuenco Avenue in Barangay Tinago, Cebu City.

The family of Sison said the killing is job-related.

Sison handles the graft cases - the Asean lamppost and computer scam - of Mayor Radaza.

Radaza, who is a former policeman, believes that the gunman was a hired killer. (Sunnex)
