Kin negotiates for a trip to Cebu to identify bodies of loved ones (12:54 p.m.)

A RELATIVE of some passengers of MV Princess of the Stars has finally come down from a line tower to negotiate on behalf of other relatives of victims of the ill-fated Sulpicio Lines vessel, an ABS-CBN Channel Network said.

Levi Samuel said they have been given promises but nothing has been happening for the last five days.

Samuel was saying they have given up hope that their relatives are still alive. They only wish to go to Cebu to identify the bodies of their relatives.

Samuel earlier climbed the line tower near the office of the Sulpicio Lines, in the North Harbor of Manila and refused to come down until his, along with the other relatives' demands, are met.

He came down almost an hour after when Lawyer Arthur Lim, representing Sulpicio Lines, came and talked with him.

Samuel said he prepared before climbing the tower. "Kumain ako, nagpahinga... Matino ang isip ko, matino ang utak ko. Mahal ko lang ang mga kamag-anakan ko," he said.

Samuel had several relatives onboard MV Princess of the Stars. One was a 12-year-old niece. (Sunnex)
