Pacman donates P3M to typhoon Frank victims (11:50 a.m.)
MANILA -- Filipino boxing icon Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao donated Friday P3 million for the victims of typhoon Frank (international codename: Fengshen), which battered several regions in the country last June.
Pacquiao announced his donation at a press conference held in Malacañang Friday after he paid a courtesy call to President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
He said he is going to issue a check worth P3 million as his personal contribution to help the displaced typhoon victims.
He also made mention of a nationwide fund-raising campaign, which he said will help collect funds for the victims.
Pacquiao is spearheading the said campaign. (Sunnex) |
