MANILA -- A magnitude 5.4 earthquake shook some parts of Luzon Tuesday with the epicenter located 98 kilometers east of Baler town, Aurora province.

The tremor was felt around 9:40 a.m. Tuesday in some parts of Luzon and Metro Manila, said Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) Director Renato Solidum.

Intensity 4 was felt in Baler town in Aurora, Manila and Quezon City, while intensity 3 was felt in Baguio City, La Trinidad in Benguet, Makati, and Dingalan in Aurora. Intensity 2, meantime, jolted Lucban, Quezon City.

Solidum said the magnitude 5.4 earthquake was part of the "earthquake swarms" that started since Thursday last week. (Sunnex)
