Palace dismisses Adaza questioning Arroyo legitimacy (10:35 a.m.)

MANILA -- A Malacaņang spokesman dismissed efforts of former assemblyman Homobono Adaza to renew moves questioning the legitimacy of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo's administration, branding it as an old issue that is unlikely to get support from the public.

Deputy Presidential Spokesman Anthony Golez said Adaza, being a lawyer, should be aware that the legitimacy issue of the Arroyo presidency has already been resolved.

Adaza described himself in a "fighting mood" and open to the idea of doing a Rodolfo Lozada Jr., a Senate witness in the national broadband network (NBN) probe, where he would go on a school tour attending public debates on the legitimacy of the Arroyo presidency.

He added that about 65 percent of the 80 million Filipinos believe that Arroyo is an illegitimate President. (JMR/Sunnex)
