MANILA -- President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on Tuesday directed the Department of Energy (DOE) to conduct an "intensive audit" of the account records of oil and power firms following a downward trend of oil prices in the world market.
Presidential Management Staff director general Cerge Remonde said this is in response to the clamor of different sectors for the government to be more pro-active especially in light of developments in the world prices.
