Classes suspended in Metro, N. Luzon (10:56 a.m.)

MANILA -- Afternoon classes in Metro Manila for all levels are suspended, Press Secretary Jesus Dureza announced Wednesday morning.

The suspension is due to the rains and wind brought about by typhoon Karen, which is expected to hit Northern Luzon on Wednesday afternoon.

The National Disaster Coordinating Council on Tuesday night suspended Wednesday classes in La Union, Pangasinan, Zambales, Tarlac, Bataan, Pampanga, and Bulacan.
