31 Bravo followers surrender (11:30 a.m.)
THIRTY-one followers of Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) commander Bravo on Wednesday surrendered to the military, saying they cannot keep up with the atrocities of their leader who led last Monday's attacks in Lanao del Norte that left 28 civilians, three soldiers and a policeman dead.
"They can no longer sustain what Bravo is doing, killing civilians," said Brigadier General Mark Antonio Supnet, commander of the Army's 104th Brigade, who gave up to the military at Ma. Cristina Village.
He said the rebels, led by sub-leader Commander Alvin, were involved in the occupation of Lapayan village in Kauswagan "while Bravo killed the civilians. They served as blocking force while the civilians were being killed."
On whether the 31 would be charged in court for their atrocities, Supnet said: "I don't know, we will refer it to the police. These are the least guilty. We can even use them as state witnesses against Bravo. These are the ones who can give proofs on what Bravo did." (VR/Sunnex)
