3,200 evacuate in Maguindanao (11:57 a.m.)

MANILA -- Three thousand two hundred civilians have left their homes in Maguindanao and are seeking shelter in the provincial gymnasium while forces of the government and Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) are in battle.

The towns in Maguindanao where offensives are taking place include Mamasapano and villages in Shariff Aguak.

Five soldiers have reportedly been injured and 12 rebels have been killed as the offensives continue, as disclosed by 40th Infantry Battalion chief Diosdado Carreon.(Sunnex)
