Bishop says military men most fit for NSA post (11:28 a.m.)
MANILA -- Hinting disappointment on the placement of former Ilocos Sur governor Luis “Chavit” Singson as deputy to the National Security Adviser (NSA), a Mindanao Catholic Bishop said they are expecting a military man to be appointed to the post.
According to Cotabato Auxiliary Bishop Jose Colin Bagaforo, they were expecting that the members and composition of the NSA would come from the military or have sufficient background on military affairs.
“We don’t know what their criteria or credentials are, and why he was qualified as deputy NSA. Second, I don’t understand how they choose a security adviser, seemingly with Chavit and Norberto Gonzales there, who are not military men, have no background in military affairs, Bagaforo said on Sunday.
“National security advisers, in our expectation, along that line would have backgrounds in military affairs or matters,” he added. (MSN/Sunnex) |
