Batasan witness surrenders (3:03 p.m.)

MANILA -- Ikram Indama, a key witness to the November 2007 Batasan Bombing, turned himself over on Tuesday after escaping from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group office on Monday morning.

From Quezon City, Indama will be brought to Taguig -– based on his request -- to be detained together with two suspects of the Batasan blast.

After surrendering, Indama said he prefers to be in jail rather than have loose security in the hands of the CIDG.

He was also reported to have said he'd rather be imprisoned than be a state witness for the government in the said case. (Sunnex)
