Filipino man blows up wife, himself in Malaysia (11:50 a.m.)

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) -- Malaysian police say a Filipino refugee has killed his wife and himself with explosives during a marital dispute.

Police chief Rowell Marong says the killings have orphaned their 11 children, aged from 3 to 20 years.

Marong says Babin Isang, a fishmonger, used explosives to kill himself and his wife at her sister's house in Kota Kinabalu city in eastern Sabah state Monday. The explosives are suspected to be those used illegally in fishing.

He says the couple, both 35, died immediately. Their niece sustained slight injuries.

Marong said Tuesday that Babin's wife Indak Musa is believed to have asked for a divorce because she suspected her husband of having an affair. (AP)
