MANILA -- The Department of Energy (DOE) on Thursday announced that first oil production from Galoc oilfields in northern Palawan was finally extracted.

"The first well was opened at 10:45 a.m. and oil was onboard a Philippine vessel at 11:20 a.m.," said Energy Secretary Angelo Reyes.
