GMA's Pampanga visits a political ploy?
By Chris Navarro and Rhay G. Navales

SAN FERNANDO -- President Arroyo laughed off reports Thursday that her frequent visit to Pampanga has something to do with her political plans in 2004.

Asked by local newsmen if her constant visit means politicking or helping the Kapampangans, she jokingly replied, "Naku, enaku munta keti. Imagine I come here tapos mag suspetya la."

The President, however, did not give any categorical answer to the question.

Arroyo visited Thursday the province and led the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of at least three bridges in the province in line with the president's "Bridge Program."

These bridges include Bebe Anak and Santa Lucia bridges in Masantol town and Anon Bridge in Floridablanca town.

She also graced the unveiling of her late father's statue -- Apung Dadong's bust inside provincial capitol building Thursday.

Local officials decided to place the former president's memorial statue inside the building because of perennial flooding at the capitol ground where it was originally planned to be place, it was learned.

"Ing minunang planu sana keng kilwal ya (Apung Dadong's bust) mibili oneng makalbug ya lagi kanita. Ngeni anyang dinatang keng talwi ketang Abad Santos Day ikit ke atyu ne keni (inside the capitol building)," Arroyo added.
