1 killed, 3 injured in OG Hi-way mishap
SAN FERNANDO -- A 52-year-old man was killed while three others were seriously injured Saturday when a pick-up truck crashed into an electrical post along the Olongapo-Gapan Highway here.
Senior Insp. Maharlika Villasis, Sub-station 1 police chief, identified the dead as Jose David Patio, married, of Barangay Dolores, this city.
The injured were identified as Florante Garcia and Estelita Garcia, both 66 and Marieta Gutierrez, 62, all of Barangay Dolores.
Patio was declared dead on arrival at the St. Fernandino Hospital Saturday. He lost consciousness while driving and eventually lost control of the steering wheel, police said.
Investigation showed that the incident took place at 3 a.m. Saturday, along the OG road near the Ford Dealer building.
Patio was ferrying the three - Florante, Estelita and Marieta, on board his Nissan pick-up (CNN-999), when he suddenly collapsed and lost control of the vehicle.
The pick-up swerved to the right and smashed into a concrete electrical post of the National Power Corp., (Napocor).
It was still unclear what caused Patio to lose consciousness. TSN
