Dong cited as top performer by DTI

PAMPANGA Provincial Board (PB)-bound Dong Gonzales has been recently awarded by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) as top performer among the triple A and B government contractors in the country.

Dong's award was based on the DTI's constructors performance evaluation system (CPES) conducted from March 1999 to January 2003. CPES is a project implemented by the Philippine Domestic Construction Board.

The DTI award was presented to Dong and other recipients during simple ceremonies at the 41st regular meeting of the Construction Industry Authority of the Philippines last December 4 at the Board of Investment.

Trade Sec. Manuel A. Roxas led government officials and industry leaders in commending Gonzales and other awardees "for following the strictest standards of quality and performance in completing their infrastructure projects."

Based on the result of the CPES, Dong garnered a rating of 93.50 per cent, considered to be one of the highest in the industry for building and industrial plant projects.

Dong, who is eyeing a seat in the provincial board in next year elections, said he was honored by the DTI award.

"I am humbled to be considered one of the top performers in the construction industry nationwide, considering that it's a tough field," Dong said.

Dong said his award is the fruit of his uncompromising adherence to professional standards and to his commitment to public welfare.

About 845 foreign-assisted and locally funded infrastructure projects from March 1999 to January 2003 were subjected to the performance evaluation system.
