I won't ask for Morales' disqualification: Dee By Rhay G. Navales
MABALACAT, Pampanga -- Telecom magnate Anthony Dee denied on Saturday reports that he plans to file a petition for disqualification against Mayor Marino "Boking" Morales should the latter continue with his plan to seek reelection in next year's polls.
Dee said he has no plan to petition for Morales' disqualification for this town's mayoralty post in the upcoming elections in May 2004.
"Yun ang ipinapakalat nilang balita. Pero wala akong balak na ipa-disqualify si mayor. Para ano pa, e nagkasundo na naman kami. Basta ako puro serbisyo publiko na lang ginagawa ko ngayon," Dee said
Morales plans to run again for mayor in this town after the separation of this municipality and Magalang town from Angeles City, through Rep. Francis "Blueboy" Nepomuceno's redistricting bill, was deferred.
Morales said earlier that his lawyers already sought the opinion of the Supreme Court and the Commission on Election (Comelec). He claimed that both agencies responded favorably to his reelection bid.
Dee vowed to institute new systems in running the municipal government and concentrate on the development of the town by building public schools, medical centers, sports complexes, among others.
He also disclosed his plan to create a new and big municipal hall where other the Municipal Circuit Trial Court and other local government departments will be housed.
