Briton laments 'unfair' treatment of PNP By Ria Isidro-de Fiesta
BELEAGUERED Central Luzon Drug Rehabilitation Center (CLDRC) executive director Sr. Supt. Conrado Briton on Saturday said he seems to have not been treated fairly by the Philippine National Police.
Briton says he has been on a floating status since he was removed as Deputy Regional Director for Administration (DRDA) of the Police Regional Office (PNP) and thus has not been actively working for the police.
"As far as I know, wala akong masamang performance at marami akong nagawa for the PNP," Briton said.
Briton said that he was relieved from his post as DRDA because of an alleged "misunderstanding" with Chief Supt. Vidal Querol, regional police director.
Since then he has not been actively working for the PNP and has not utilized his capacity as an officer.
He has also been the subject of controversy because of his alleged involvement in certain anomalies and maltreatment of patients inside the rehab center.
He was reported to have been relieved of his duties as executive director of the CLDRC by Police Director Gen. Hermogenes Ebdane recently.
But Briton reiterated that "there was no such order from the PNP" and that he was "not sacked" from his post.
In fact, he says that the PNP did not appoint him to his post at the CLDRC, although he is a member of the PNP.
