No recess for provincial dads despite hectic poll campaign
By Minerva Zamora-Arceo

DESPITE their hectic campaign schedules, Pampanga Provincial Board (PB) members said they are bound to continue working without even a recess.

Vice Gov. Juan Miguel "Mikey" Arroyo said they are expected to hold regular sessions until the next administration takes over even as he pointed out that there should be a continuity of services despite the hectic election period.

Board Members Joseller "Yeng" Guiao and Cris Garbo seconded Arroyo's pronouncement. They said they would still meet every Monday to finish legislative matters listed in this fiscal year's agenda.

"We must finish all the legislative matters on the agenda before July because the new legislative body would take over then," Garbo said.

Most of the board members are either seeking a higher post or eyeing reelection in the May elections.

Arroyo is running for Pampanga second district's congressman against Porac vice Mayor Rey Lapid.

Guiao, on the other hand, is eyeing the vice governorship under the Lakas-CMD slate with Board Member Mark Lapid.

Guiao would be facing former Vice Gov. Clayton Olalia, Board Member Edna David, and actor Roi Vinzon in the vice gubernatorial race.

Meanwhile, Garbo and Board Member Nestor Dizon are both running for vice mayor in Mabalacat and San Fernando, respectively.

Garbo is the runningmate of reelectionist mayor Marino "Boking" Morales.

The other board members, Lilia Pineda, Betty Lim, and Nestor Tolentino, are seeking reelection.

Board Member Dinan Labung is also running for congressman in the third district.

Board Members Romy Maglanque and Robert David are reportedly not running and plan to retire from public service.
