Board members sympathize with kin of fire victims By Chris Navarro
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Third district board members Aurelio "Dong" Gonzales Jr. and Johnny "JQ" Quiambao Monday offered their condolences to the families of the eight women who perished in last Saturday's fire.
The two board members said they sympathize with the family and relatives of the victims, most of whom are residents of Bacolor, Mexico, Sta. Ana and this city.
"The news came as a shock to us. It's really a tragedy," Quiambao said.
Quiambao said he and his fellow provincial legislators in the third district will be sending flowers to surviving relatives of the victims of this "most unfortunate tragedy".
Meanwhile, Gonzales said he will urge his fellow board members to seek an in-depth investigation on the cause of the fire.
He added that aside from the investigations being conducted by the city government of San Fernando, the Provincial Board should also "look into the matter" and find out if there were lapses on the part of the grocery store owner in providing a fire escape..
Gonzales and Quiambao Monday inspected the site of the fire.
