MNK '04 committee launches Miss Globe Texters' Choice Award
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Mutya Ning Kapampangan 2004 committee, headed by Board Member Ceferino Laus, in cooperation with Globe Telecom, has recently launched the campaign for the Miss Globe Texters' Choice Award, a first text campaign for the 22 Kapampangan beauties competing in this year's most prestigious province-wide pageant.
One of the 22 lovely candidates in this year's Mutya Ning Kapampangan will be chosen as the Miss Globe Texters' Choice during the coronation night on December 11, 6:00 p.m., at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center here.
Board Member Ceferino Laus is inviting all Kapampangans to vote for their candidate, not only to show their support, but also to promote their respective towns or cities.
To vote, Globe subscribers in the province are urged to send VOTE MUTYA KEYWORD or NAME OF MUNICIPALITY or CITY to 2363. For example, VOTE MUTYA GUAGUA and send to 2363. Globe Telecom has provided the following keywords for each candidate: Angeles City (candidate) - ANGELES; Apalit - APALIT; Arayat - ARAYAT; Bacolor - BACOLOR; Candaba - CANDABA; Floridablanca - FLORIDABLANCA; Guagua - GUAGUA; Lubao - LUBAO; Mabalacat - MABALACAT; Macabebe - MACABEBE; Magalang - MAGALANG; Masantol - MASANTOL; Mexico - MEXICO; Minalin - MINALIN; Porac - PORAC; City of San Fernando - SANFERNANDO; San Luis - SANLUIS; San Simon - SANSIMON; Sasmuan - SASMUAN; Sta. Ana - STAANA; Sta. Rita - STARITA; Sto. Tomas - STOTOMAS.
According to the Mutya committee, whoever gets the highest number of votes will be named Miss Globe Texters' Choice while the number of votes gained by the candidates will be included among the criteria for judging, but only for the elimination round.
Laus said all the municipalities have already pledged to field their candidates, whose names will be made public as soon as the committee has completed the line-up.
The Mutya Ning Kapampangan press presentation and swimsuit competition will be held at the Casino Filipino Angeles on November 30 at 6 p.m., while the pre-pageant is on December 5, same time, at the SM City Entertainment Plaza, in the City of San Fernando.
Meanwhile, all other committees for the events and programs in the celebration of the 433rd Aldo Ning Kapampangan have been busy preparing since October.
For the Most Outstanding Kapampangan Awards, committee chair Board Member Pros Lagman has vowed to give more credence and prestige to the event by convening a separate body for the screening of nominees and judging of awardees. The categories were also limited to the following: agriculture, arts and culture, business and entrepreneurship, education, professions, government service, mass media, parenthood, law enforcement, science and technology, sports, and youth leadership.
The deadline for the submission of nominations for the MOKA is on November 19. Nomination forms are available at the Records Office and Provincial Board (PB) Office, Capitol, City of San Fernando. Other activities set for the week-long Pampanga Day celebration are the Agro-Industrial Trade Fair headed by Board Member JQ Quiambao; Travel Mart Photo Exhibit led by Bessie Makabali and Rommel Pineda; Recognition for Barangay Health Workers led by Dr. Ernesto Santos, Jobs Fair led by Luz Galang; Sinukwan Festival of the Save Pampanga Movement; Cultural Presentation for Teachers and Duman Festival headed by DepEd schools superintendent Rosalinda Luna.
The Aldo Ning Kapampangan 2004 celebration opens December 1 and ends December 11. This year's sponsors are Globe Telecom, Casino Filipino Angeles, SM City Pampanga, San Miguel Corp., Lupo S.
