MAGALANG -- Two persons suspected of stealing orchid plants worth P7,000 were arrested by police officers here on Tuesday.
The suspects were identified as Edwin M. Pasion, 34, married, and Jaime O. Santos, 29, married. They are both from Barangay Pandacaqui, Mexico town.
Chief Inspector Eliseo R. Capili, town's police chief, disclosed that the suspects were caught while allegedly stealing several pieces of orchids inside the compound of one Liza P. Rodriguez of Barangay San Nicolas, this town.
Capili said Rodriguez's son, Harris, was awakened by barking dogs as the suspects barged into the victims' premises.
The young Rodriguez immediately sought police assistance. Police officers Jesus S. Tuazon, Bernardo Tiqui and Isabelo Soto were able to arrest the suspects.
For violating the Revised Penal Code, both Pasion and Santos were charged before the office of Prosecutor Julieta Baccutan-Estanislao.
