Smokin' Joe's Pizza a slice of heaven By Dennis E. Dungao
IT ALL started with an idea. Joseph Dychioco had found a perfect formula that works for both ends of the pole. "Joe", as he was fondly called, is the epitome of a young man with dreams of entrepreneurship.
Joe's first venture was called "Joe's Food Delivery" and had its days by servicing clients' food delivery needs, mostly deli products. It was during a stay at the US that he got the idea of making pizza.
Joe's family loves to cook, and through the cowing of an aunt, Joe got his recipe for his pizza. Coming home in Angeles City in 2003, Joe started his pizza endeavor first with friends and relatives, until by sheer word of mouth, "Smokin' Joe's Pizza" had somehow broke through the market.
First, it was the foreign residents they've catered to, until locals got a taste of it and learned to love it. The orders started to come in thereafter. Joe had to produce the product in big quantities, while devising a way to package it.
Smokin' Joe's Pizza is an explosion of flavors truly unique and satisfying. Its delectable gourmet flavor - the sauce and secret herbs put on it enhance its flavor even more - is simply heavenly, melting in your mouth. The crust doesn't have the consistency of baked bread - it's just about right to hold all the cheese and toppings. Complimented by beer, this writer has gotten a taste of it, and somehow became a craving.
After all the laborious dough preparations and quality control, Smokin' Joe's Pizza comes in two classic favorites of thin crust pizza - Joe's Regular Pizza with lots of mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, pepperoni, ground beef, mushrooms, onion and green pepper - and Joe's Three Cheese Pizza which has cream cheese as an addition. Seasonal Sardines Pizza and Vegetarian Pizza come into production during the Lenten Season, but you can order it by request if you feel like it.
The size is very convenient, 10"x7", made to fit in your refrigerator's freezer, straight to your oven toaster - not in the microwave oven, for it might cause sagging.
Perhaps the biggest selling point of Smokin' Joe's Pizza, not withstanding its gourmet flair, is its convenience. You can have it anytime, even anywhere - just bring a toaster with you.
You can also personalize your toppings by adding your favorite items on the pizza's flat surface if you love to overindulge on your gastronomic needs. Shelf life is three months.
Joe is in the US scouting more products that shall be available within the Smokin' Joe's Pizza menu in the days to come. Girlfriend Scarlet Ebba adds her marketing know-how in distributing the product to close to a hundred outlets within the boundaries of the city.
Chances are, when you order a pizza or two from your favorite joint, whether it's from an Internet café, coffee shop, or high-end bar, and you have that delectable satisfaction, it must be from "Joe's".
