Editorial: Hot cars
WHAT is this we hear that a trader, belonging to a prominent family in Angeles City, is being tagged as a member of a carnapping syndicate operating in Metro Manila and nearby provinces?
This report came in the heels of a raid done in the trader's home by operatives of the Regional Traffic Management Unit, where two supposedly "hot" cars were recovered.
Tsk, tsk.
This does not speak well of the trader, whose identity has been withheld by the police for hear of hampering their investigations.
The suspect, according to the police, was not at home during the raid. He probably barely escaped from the police's clutches if not for his "connections"... probably.
Someone also probably tipped off that the said trader has been holding hot cars in his home. In that case, his car collection days are over, with the police now hot on his heels.
No one can really escape the long arm of the law, however people think otherwise. If one is doing something against the law, then he/she has to pay for it.
If one is able to elude arrest, then he/she is lucky. But remember, someone mightier than all of us is witness to everything we do. And no one can be able to escape that fact.
Sight for sore eyes
For those who live in barangays where lantern-making is a business, they are probably witness now as to how people are busy as bees making what they do best - the parol.
We have seen - and are seeing - people, young and old, making parols in the city. Big or small, these parols are taking shape right before our eyes, and it won't be long before we put them up in our own homes.
Amidst the problems hounding the country, the lanterns are indeed a sight for sore eyes. And they are one of the many things we won't get tired of seeing... not here in Pampanga.
