2 more men killed in Floridablanca
By Marna H. Dagumboy

FLORIDABLANCA -- Two individual were killed in separate violent incidents in Barangays Sta. Monica and Benedicto here on Wednesday, reports said.

Police identified the fatalities as Edgardo Garcia Paguio, 43, married, a farmer from Barangay Sta. Monica here; and Venancio Mateo Jr., 44, bystander and a resident of Barangay Benedicto, this town.

According to investigations, Paguio was on his way to his farm on Wednesday morning when three men on board a motorcycle shot the victim at close range.

Police reports said Paguio was shot several times on the different parts of his body.

Sources said Paguio's death may have something to do with land grabbing. A manhunt operation has been launched for the possible arrest of the suspects, who are believed to be "gun-for-hire" personalities.

Mateo was stabbed to death last Thursday by his companion following a heated argument during a drinking session in Barangay Benedicto, this town.

The suspect was identified as Reynaldo Macatuno Bansil, 43, jobless, a resident of Barangay San Anton, Guagua town. He and Mateo were having a drinking spree prior to the stabbing incident.

Bansil, sources said, fled towards unknown direction after the incident.

Operatives of Guagua police confirmed Saturday Bansil, who has a standing warrant of arrest for rape, committed suicide.

Police have yet to give a statement on the reason behind Bansil's suicide.
