'Drug peddler' falls By Marna H. Dagumboy
LUBAO -- The second among the top 12 drug peddlers in the town finally fell into the hands of the police in a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Roque Arbol on Tuesday.
Superintendent Edwin Mangaliman, chief of the Lubao police, identified the arrested drug peddler as Gerry Layug Cruz alias Ponga, 30, a resident of Purok 3 in the barangay.
Mangaliman said the suspect was collared in the act of selling suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride known as shabu, weighing some .1367 grams, to a poseur-buyer.
Police recovered from Cruz 10 pieces of P100 bills used as marked money and three heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu.
The suspect was charged for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act (RA) 9165 commonly known as Illegal Sale and Possession of Dangerous Drugs. No bail was recommended for the temporary release of the suspect, who is now detained at the Guagua District Jail in Barangay San Matias in Guagua.
