Man sued for 'raping' Japanese national By Marna H. Dagumboy
CAMP OLIVAS - A resident of Magalang town was recently charged for allegedly raping a 13-year-old Japanese national in Barangay Isidro of the town, police said Thursday.
Superintendent Elvis Diaz, chief of the Magalang police, identified the accused as Anthony de Dios, 20.
The victim named only as Aira (not her real name) said she and her guardian went to the Magalang Police Station and filed a complaint against de Dios for "allegedly molesting her inside the suspect's home."
The girl said sometime in 2005 while she was watching TV with de Dios, the accused forcibly dragged her to his bedroom and repeatedly molested her.
De Dios was charged for violation of Republic Act (RA) 7610 or the Anti-Child Abuse Law. However, police said the suspect is still at large after he went into hiding upon learning that the victim had sued him.
Police said they are now conducting a hot pursuit operation for the arrest of de Dios.
