Mayor offers P100T bounty for arrest of killers
By Reynaldo G. Navales

MABALACAT Mayor Marino Morales has offered a P100,000 reward to anyone who would be able to identify the killers of the three young men last Friday.

Morales said he hopes that the bounty would help in the immediate arrest of four unidentified gunmen who shot dead the three victims -- Jan Nikols Reyes Vitug, 20; Michael Pamintuan Manalo, 25; and Russel Cordero Julian, 22; -- at sitio Aguso in Barangay San Francisco in the town.

The victim's companion - Marvin Carreon Canasa, 20, of Don Cornelio Subdivision, Dau in the town - was also hit by bullets in the hand but managed to run to safety.

The three victims were reportedly made to lie on their bellies and were shot one after the other.

"This is a gruesome crime," said Morales.

He said names of those who will give information regarding the killers' identities will be treated with strict confidentiality.

Any information regarding the case may be relayed to the Criminal Investigation Division Group (CIDG) based in Pampanga with telephone numbers 888-3633 and 0917-8351983, Mabalacat police station with telephone numbers 893-9956 and 0927-2031016; and Office of the Mayor with contact number (045) 331-7495.

The loss of the three victims brought the peace-loving residents of Barangay San Francisco into deep shock and sorrow, as they have never before experienced the type of violence in their neighborhood.

The CIDG in Pampanga, headed by Superintendent Rene D. Ong, has already been assisting the local police in the investigation of the case.

Recovered from the crime scene were four empty shells of caliber .45 pistol, six shells of caliber .9 millimeter and two deformed slugs.

Morales earlier appealed to the residents of Barangay San Francisco to cooperate with the police and provide information that may lead to the identification of the killers.
