ANGELES CITY -- Businessman Regis Romero II has confirmed his intention to seek an elective post in next year's congressional and local elections.

The businessman met with local journalists at the Fortune Restaurant where he formally announced his political bid.
He said he envisions for the Angeles to become a highly progressive city with the influx of investors in the Metro Clark area.
He disclosed that the city and the rest of the towns around the Clark Special Economic Zone (CSEZ) have a lot of potentials in terms of economic development. According to him, the area should be prepared for the massive development in the economic zone. "We need to hire skilled workers for companies in Clark," he said.
Romero added that market reliance, good governance and graft and corruption are some important factors that should be addressed in order for business to flourish in the area.
He also confirmed reports that he has been communicating with officials of the city and Mabalacat, including Mayor Carmelo Lazatin and Representative Francis Nepomuceno as regards public service and economic status of Metro Clark area.
