Mayors endorse environment chief's adoption as son of Pampanga
By Raymond C. Garcia

MINALIN Mayor Edgar Flores has extended greetings to Environment Secretary Angelo Reyes, who was recognized as adopted son of Pampanga recently.

Flores, who was one of the main proponents of the resolution proposing to adopt Reyes, cited the numerous supports that the environment secretary had extended this province.

"The adoption was already approved last year when he was still the secretary of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG). We, mayors of Pampanga, unanimously endorsed the adoption of (Secretary) Reyes and the resolution was endorsed to the Provincial Board (PB)," Flores said.

Reyes's adoption, Flores said, was based on merits that the secretary extended to the province as cited by the resolution when he was still the DILG chief.

The mayor also said that during the stint of Reyes as chairman of the National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC), he was instrumental for the construction of thousands of resettlement houses, which benefited a good number of Kapampangans.

Reyes, whose wife hails from Minalin, was also lauded by Flores for the help and support the secretary had given the town.
