Minaleños mark feast of San Nicolas
By Raymond Garcia

MINALIN -- It was a wet but lively festivity as Board Member Cesar Magat and villagers of San Nicolas (Poblacion) here celebrated the feast of San Nicolas (Nicolas de Tolentino) last Sunday.

Magat, who is also the barangay chairman of San Nicolas, said the two-day festivity, which started last Saturday was fun-filled with various activities.

He said that aside from the procession, devotees participated in the annual ritual of "mipamasa", a battle of the bands, Ati-atihan, basketball game, and search for Miss Gay.

Magat, together with his barangay mates, participated in a procession around the barangay while carrying the images of Nicolas de Tolentino and Sta. Monica.

He thanked the fiesta committee and people who supported them in making the festival a success. "I would want to extend by sincere thanks to the young men and women who make up the committee, my fellow board members and most especially to Pampanga Governor Mark Lapid for their generous support in making our fiesta a huge success," he said.

He added that proceeds of the fiesta will be used in the rehabilitation and repair of the chapel.
