Dubbed as "Mail Matters: Postal Solutions to your Business Concerns", the seminar aims to improve the services of the PPC and to attract more clients to avail of its products and services.
PPC Assistant Postmater General for Marketing Luis Carlos gave updates regarding the recent improvements in the postal service.
Carlos said that in order to solve the problem regarding lost mail and packages, the PPC central office has ordered the installation of cameras inside the customs office to monitor the mail being processed inside. He also said negotiations are ongoing with the Bureau of Customs (BOC) so the PPC can also install cameras in order to monitor the packages being processed inside the customs area and thus avoiding some losses in the packages.
"We also acquired some 49 additional vehicles and distributed them to some post offices in the country in order to make them more efficient in their work," he said.
Out of the 49 additional vehicles acquired by the PPC central office, three were given to the PPC Operations Division for Central Luzon headed by Director Ramon Garcia.
Marlyn Junio, assistant chief of PPC Sales Division, reported that about the products and services given by the PPC that includes ordinary mail service, business mail with bar coded proof of delivery, registered mail service, priority mail service, domestic express mail service, express pouch service, air parcel, money order, collect-on-delivery, P.O. box, business reply service, unaddressed advertising mail service and postal IDs.
The PPC also announced during the symposium the latest dates by which air and surface mails, parcels and EMS items should be posted to reach the countries of destination to ensure delivery for the coming holiday season.
For her part, PPC Regional Director Amelia Cunanan discussed the recent improvements in the postal service within the region.
The symposium was participated in by representatives coming different agencies both government and non-government together with other PPC officials and employees.
