Isay Alvarez, Robert Senia to host Mutya Ning Angeles pageant

ANGELES CITY -- The country’s world renowned singers Isay Alvarez and Robert Seña will host the city’s most prestigious beauty contest the Mutya Ning
Angeles on December 3, 2006 at the Expo Filipino Amphitheater in Clark Field.

Alvarez and Seña are known performers of the musical “Miss Saigon”.

Angelo “Sonny” Lopez, the event’s organizer, said the pageant will be handled by the Pampanga-based Academy of Performing Arts headed by Bicong del Rosario.

Lopez said 22 lovely ladies from various barangays in the city will vie for the title of Mutya Ning Angeles 2006 and Mutya Ning Angeles Tourism.

Other minor titles will also be awarded during the beauty pageant.

Lopez said this is probably the biggest and grandest beauty pageant in the history of Mutya Ning Angeles.

“Imagine, putting together the expertise of director Bicong del Rosario in theater and combining it with a prestigious beauty pageant, the audience will surely watch a very surprising and spectacular show,” Lopez said.

Meanwhile, Phillip Dizon Torres, pageant’s promoter-organizer, said a pre-pageant was held at SM City Clark Cinema 5 at exactly 7 p.m. Friday night. Torres said the pre-pageant featured the candidates’ talent, casual wear and swimwear competition.

“The pre-judging will also be conducted during the pre-pageant,” Torres added.

The Mutya Ning Angeles 2006 is another priority project of Mayor Carmelo “Tarzan” Lazatin in cooperation with Smart through the initiative of Carmelo “Jon-Jon” Lazatin II, Trade and Investment Promotions Office and is organize by Lopez with Phillip Dizon Torres, Cholo Gaerlan and Manny Ocampo in coordination with Bicong del Rosario of Academy of Performing Arts .

The organizers said the project was organized with the support of sponsors like Cebuana Lhuillier Pawnshop, Casino Alcohol, Clark Development Corporation, GV 99.1, SM City Clark and Metro Clark Network.
