ANGELES CITY -- The Commission on Higher Education (Ched) regional office has formally organized the Council of Deans in Information Technology Education (CDITE) for Central Luzon in a meeting on November 20.
The CDITE was organized to enhance information technology (IT) education by promoting quality instruction, research, community service and collaboration among higher education institutions offering IT programs in Central Luzon.
Elected as founding president of the CDITE is Angeles University Foundation (AUF) College of Computer Studies dean Dennis Ramiro Sangalang.
Sangalang is also a member of Ched Technical Panel for IT Education; founding board member and national auditor of the Philippine Society of IT Educators (PSITE); and member of Ched Regional Quality Assessment Team in the region.
A graduate of BS Computer Science from the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM), Sanggalang has been serving AUF for 12 years now. He earned his master's degree in IT from AUF and is now completing his doctorate degree in business administration, also at AUF.
Other CDITE officers elected are Leonardo Surio (Baliuag University), vice president; Grace Fabros-Tyler (Systems Plus College Foundation), secretary; Hadji Tejuco (University of Regina Carmeli), treasurer; Ferdinand dela Rosa (STI Tarlac), auditor; and Joseph Esquivel (Holy Angel University) and Randy Sansait (Wesleyan University of the Philippines), board members.
